Name: Anna O'Donovan
Who did you study with? It’s kind of like trying to make an acceptation speech at the Oscar’s, there’s no way you can thank everyone in the 2 minutes allotted before you get cut off by the music. I’ve had many wonderful teachers over 10 plus years and have spent a considerable amount of time practicing with Margi Young, Christie Clark, Joe Miller, Leslie Desaulniers and Angela Clark. But I have also learned valuable lessons from all of the teachers who I’ve only come in contact with for a brief period of time.
How long have you been teaching? Almost two years.
What other jobs have you had? I’ve had a series of jobs in Marketing and currently work as the Marketing Department in a non-profit in addition to teaching.
Favorite place that you have traveled to? Seville, Spain, a wonderful old city with enchanting little streets and beautiful architecture.
List 3 words your students would use to describe your classes: Rejuvenating, blissful and chillaxing Yes I’m aware chillaxing is not a real word, but I like it anyway.
How does your own practice influence your daily life? I think it’s given me more patience and allowed me to fully appreciate each moment as it happens.
Favorite asana? It changes based not how I’m feeling and what’s going on in my life, but lately I’ve been really craving all kinds of inversions.
Who is a teacher who inspires you? Joe Miller’s knowledge of anatomy and how he integrates it into his teachings continuously fills me with awe.
A great yoga class makes you feel... totally present and full of bliss all at the same time.
